Skin-friendly Makeup Removal Routine

If you have a makeup routine, you should also have a makeup removal routine. Leaving your makeup on for prolonged periods, especially overnight, can result in clogged pores, which can lead to the development of acne. Makeup also leaves the skin vulnerable to free radicals, leading to the breakdown of your skin’s natural collagen, which can result in fine lines in the skin. Keep in mind that overnight is when your skin’s natural regeneration process takes place, and makeup can hinder that important rejuvenating action, leaving your skin more prone to wrinkles and imperfections later on in life. As for your eye makeup, leaving mascara on at night may seem harmless, but sleeping in eye makeup repeatedly can lead to buildup of bacteria, which can lead to the formation of pesky styes and other like inflammation. 

There are a few products you can use to remove your makeup with skin cleansers and skin cleansing wipes being the most user-friendly. To take your makeup removal routine a step further, look for cleansing products designed for your skin type, be that oily, dry, sensitive, or combination. 

It’s important to note that even the most gentle of cleansers will rob your skin of moisture, so for best results, follow up your makeup removal routine with a round of moisturizer.
