Something Old, Something New – Every day is a party with wear again bridal party looks
According to a recent poll of over 1,500 women by David’s Bridal, Canadian women are spending an average of $163 on special occasion dresses, but thanks to the rise in personalized weddings, they are getting their money’s worth and becoming more savvy at revamping their special occasion dresses into something that can be worn again, be it to the office or for a night out on the town.
Gone are the days of bridesmaid dresses that are banished to the back of the closest. Instead, we’re seeing brides that are carrying that personalization trend to their parties by having their attendants choose complementary, fashion-forward dresses that flatter all body types, sizes and skin tones. As an alternative to identical bridal parties, bridesmaids are often choosing the same silhouette in sizes ranging from 0-26, and having each one wear varying shades of pretty pastels, for example. The effect is gorgeous!
Ditch old thinking that bridesmaid or special occasion dresses can’t be worn again. Instead, if you have any choice in selecting your bridesmaid dress, opt for a simple silhouette that will have the most restyling flexibility. Maximize your budget by staying true to your everyday style aesthetic. Here are some basic wardrobe staples that can inspire you to revamp your dress for the office, date night or for weekend brunch with the girls.
